Aquí y allá: art and activism against borders

Join us for a showcase of creative works by members of Otros Dreams en Actión (ODA), a translocal organization of and for deportees and returnees, fighting for visa justice and border abolition. The evening will feature a film screening of El Digno Retorno / Dignified Return, panel discussion with ODA and film director, Jose Eduardo Aguilar, as well as an exhibition of works by fellows of ODA’s Flourishing Here and There Project.

Exhibited artists include Liliana Rámirez, Javier Salazar, Miriam Álvarez, Maggie Loredo, Danielle Cosmes , Rosa Lopez H., Nayelli T. Salas , Esme Flores Marcial and Baruck Racine A.

The organization for this event is part of the work of students in the Transnational Border Lab – a series of courses co-facilitated by Otros Dreams en Actión and faculty at The New School.

Film screening from 6pm, followed by reception.

Presented by the Politics Department at The New School for Social Research, the Schools of Public Engagement, and Global Studies at Eugene Lang College.
